Why they were selected:

As a one year wonder, they rank 3rd on the All-Time best SD scores (more on this in Baseball Dynasties).  Even on the basis of two years (1961-1962), they still have the 12th best SD score.  They edged out Los Angeles in a 3 game playoff 2-1 to win the NL pennant and took the Yankees to a 7th game before losing 1-0.
