Why they were selected:
They pushed the 1975 Big Red Machine to a Game 7.  You have to say they had heart. Yaz was still there from the 1967 Red Sox and Lynn and Rice might have been the two best rookies on one team ever. The pitching lead by Luis Tiant is iffy, but you could say the same thing about the 1986 Red Sox staff - even with Roger Clemens.  From the 1967, 1975 and 1986 Red Sox Pennant winners - 1975 gets a very slight edge.
