Game Developer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is part of Design Depots Game Development team. Design Depot has been awarded Best New Sports Game by Games Magazine for DYNASTY League Baseball and is expanding into Football and Basketball titles. This Developer works closely with other software engineers and technical producers to design, develop, test and implement new web-based sports simulation game applications, to develop new features and functionality in existing sports simulation games, and to support current systems. Technologies and platforms used include Microsoft.NET, Java, Servlets, T-SQL and MSSQL Server.
Computer Science or other relevant degree, or work experience equivalent to formal qualification.
2+ years Object Oriented design experience.
2+ years experience with Java, servlets and web applications.
2+ years practical SQL
database development and T-SQL coding experience.
1+ years experience with Microsoft.NET, Visual C++ and or Visual C#.
Understanding of multi-tier web architectures, and Object Oriented design patterns and concepts a must.
Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to quickly learn a diverse scope of software and database projects requiring detailed analysis, creative and practical problem solving, and possess sound judgment.
Must demonstrate solid organization and communication skills.
Interest in sports simulations and sports fantasy games a must.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Java as applied to object oriented software design and multi-tier architectures.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL
Server, including stored procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft.NET, Visual C++ and or Visual C#.
An understanding of the SQL language.
Experience in playing a variety of sports simulations and sports fantasy games.
Experience with HTTP, XML, Web Services a plus.
MCDBA, MCSD or specific
Microsoft SQL Server certification a plus.
